Psychological Assessments

A psychological assessment is a series of tests conducted, or supervised, by a Psychologist. It involves using various methods to gather data (i.e., interviews, observations, and standardized measures) on an individual in order to arrive at hypotheses about their capabilities as they pertain to cognition, behaviour, and personality. With children and youth, it is often used in an educational environment to decipher academic supports that could promote success where a student may be struggling. All data is compiled into a comprehensive report which can be used as supportive documentation in building individual education plans (IEPs) or in obtaining assistive technology if recommended.
